It may sound a bit daunting, a wireless hard drive? Why would want that? It is actually quite simple, you can use it like a normal hard drive, but if you are traveling, you can turn on the wireless function to watch films on, it is great for a group of friends, or family traveling because it allows for 4 users to simultaneously stream HD content to there devices.

Okay, enough of the advertising jargon lets put it nice and simple. The hard drive is mechanical meaning that it has a finite life span, although it seems to quite rugged, dropped it from a couple of meters a while ago, and it is still working fine. The design is this matte look, it kinda looks like it is sandblasted metal. The hard drive also has this hole for a clip or something, to be honest I don't think that it is necessary, because it is safer to keep a hard drive on the inside of a bag, and also you want to reduce all shocks that a hard drive gets, so my advise, get a case or leave it in a pocket in your bag.

The company has not released its speed, but on testing I found it has around 7GB write/read per min, this is actually okay, and I don't know why they don't release these specs, as they are comparable to high tier hard drives.

Now in terms of size this hard drive is perfectly adequate with both a smaller 1TB, and a nice 2TB which will allow you to fill it with a large amount of films, and also
other media.

Unfortunately price wise this is quite expensive compared to other
options like the WD equivalent, which has the addition of a built in SD card reader. For some this may be a better option, apart it does have a slower speed, and also a smaller battery.

Now for the app that it uses, it advertises to use the Seagate Media app, but the LaCie Media app is identical, and suits the hard drive better. But on the other hand both apps are horrible to use, with a interface which suits 2010. When playing media it will pause frequently requiring you to wait up to a minute for it to buffer, apparently this is bug in the software according to LaCie, but they said this a while back, and have not fixed it yet, but all other wireless hard drives seem to take ages to buffer.

I would recommend this hard drive for anyone who is not on a tight budget, and wants to get the best, despite all of its hickups. The design is great and is convenient for people who are on the move often, but also need to transfer data when sat at a desk.
For your convince I have added a link to the product so you can have a look yourself.
