Review-Cheap Record Player
+ Cheap price make this affordable to the mass.
+ Simple and effective design.
- Nasty built in speakers.
- Nothing special about it.
My Star Rating= 4/5
Amazon Star Rating= 4.5/5
I brought this record player as a prop for a production. I was not expecting anything out of this record player, apart for it to spin, but boy did it do more!
Now the built in speakers are poor, and offer a worse standard of audio than even a rubbish MP3, but plug in the RCA to 3.5mm jack in and hook up some quality speakers and wow the quality will just blow you away.
The product is called the "Simple" record player, this is because it is very simple, and it requires no past knowledge to make it work properly. But I recommend starting off with some cheap records until you have properly learned how to work, and take care of both the records, and the player.
The player itself consists of a spinning plate (belt drive), a arm with a needle on the end, a lever to lift the arm, a on/off/sound control dial, built in speaker, and a cover. It is really that simple.
The Finnish of the player look decent, but to the touch you can tell that it is a veneer, and not solid wood.
Price wise it is really quite cheap, and offers a similar quality to others which are up to 3x the price, making this a very attractive product financially wise. One thing is that if you are getting a vinyls then you will end up spending up to £25 per record meaning that you will quickly rack up a hefty bill quickly unlike digital music, which is very cheap if you get it from the right place. One thing I do recommend you doing is Googleing your nearest record shop, and pay them a visit, you may just find something that you did not know you liked, and I have found that you can get some free ones if you ask if they have any that they are throwing out.
Now I have to say that obviously this is nothing like a higher end turntable, and the sound quality is not the best, but it is cheap. Now because of the weight of the needle it can actually do damage to the record, by scratching it ever so slightly.
In conclusion this player is cheap, and performs. If you are looking for a perfect all in one solution this is not the best, because you are probably going to need to use a adapter, and a decent speaker to make records worth while using vinyl. But if you love music, and want to make it have that extra kick I can highly recommend this system.
Below is a link to the record player, have a look at it for yourself, the seller is really friendly and delivers it using next day delivery.
I also recommend buying the below with it, it will allow you to plug it into most speakers, or headphones, for example all Bose, and Beats products will work with this cable.
