Review-Anker PowerCore 20100mAh

We have all seen the overpriced Morphie chargers, I am not doubting there quality, but they cost far more than they should. The Anker unit was recommended to me by one of my readers, and considering I was on the look out for one anyway, plus the price was low I thought I would bite the bullet.

At the time of writing it is just under £20.00, this puts it at way under the police of Morphie power bank. For example the RRP of a power bank rated at 12,000 mAh is £100, making it £8.30 per 1,000mAh, whilst the Anker is only £0.95 per 1,000 mah. So it is clear which option is better financially.

The product is very easy to use and to charge it you simply use the included USB cable and plug it into any USB charger, and off it goes. The charge time is is around 14 hours if you are using one of the iPhone chargers that you get,not course you can reduce the charge time if you plug it into a higher output charger. To check the remaining battery
Moving swiftly onto the design aspect of the device; the power bank is constructed out of a very rugged and sturdy type of plastic, it has a rough surface that stops scratches and scuffs. It is pretty simple and the plastic design may be a let down for some, but let me reassure you that it does not feel 'plasticky' but feels solid. The weight of this bank is petty high and it os comparable to a small brick, it is truly remarkable how something so small can pack so much weight.

To check the remaining battery you press the button on the side, and it will light up the fraction out of 4, for example if 2 of the LEDs are showing you have 50% battery.

When this power bank was shown to me I thought purely from the size and form factor that it would contain half the mah that it does, but I was wrong it packs a punch in terms of the size to capacity ratio.

I decided to take the power bank to the test, I did this by taking it on my holiday to Dubai. I charged it on the Friday night before we left for the UAE. I charged my mobile only once it had depreciated down to 0% battery and it had run down. I also used the power bank primarily to charge my iPhone 6 plus for this test. I charged my mobile roughly once a day and it remarkably lasted me the whole holiday (8 charges). Overall I was impressed tat it could live up to its promise and charge my mobile so many times, this makes it ideal for a holiday or stint where a outlet is not available, like a festival or a secluded holiday.

My only complaint is that when you want to change a device you cannot just simply plug it in, you have to click the button on the side, this can be annoying when you have the charger trailing out of your bag into your device, and you do not want to remove the charger from your bag. Although the charger will remain on for 15 minutes.

Overall I would recommend this charger highly, due to its competitive price point, the size and design factor, and its ease of use. I must tell you that I am only writing this positive review and not pointing out any flaws because in my opinion it is flawless in every aspect. I have not received any money from the manufacturer to write this review and purchased this charger out of my own pocket. In case you would be interested in purchasing a charger for yourself I have added a link to the product below.
